Plate spring production process

2024-10-04

The manufacturing process of plate springs is a multi-step process aimed at producing high quality, reliable and able to meet specific performance requirements.

1. Material selection

Spring steel: Select a high-strength spring steel material suitable for the manufacture of plate springs.

Specification requirements: According to the design requirements to choose the appropriate plate thickness, width and length.

2. Plate cutting and drilling bending

Cutting: cutting the plate to the required size and length according to the design requirements.

Drilling (punching) : punching the center hole and the end hole, fixing the steel plate of different lengths together to prevent displacement and facilitate fixing and installation.

Cutting edge bending: the cut sheet is processed into the desired arc by special bending equipment.

End treatment: According to the design requirements, the two ends of the plate spring are curled or other types of treatment.

3. Heat treatment

Quenching: The formed spring is heated to a certain temperature and cooled quickly to improve its hardness and strength, so that it has good elastic recovery ability and carrying capacity.

Tempering: Tempering the plate spring after quenching to reduce the internal stress and improve its toughness and ductility.

4. Surface treatment

Shot peening: Removal of surface oxide and impurities by shot peening.

Anti-corrosion drying treatment: paint or other anti-corrosion drying treatment to prevent the surface of the spring and external air and water oxidation reaction, in order to improve the corrosion resistance of the spring.

Step 5 Assemble

Multi-piece assembly: For multi-piece plate springs, reeds of different thicknesses are stacked in sequence and fixed together by the center bolt.

Step 6 Test

Static test: static loading test is carried out on the plate spring to ensure that it meets the design requirements.

Dynamic test: Simulate the actual working conditions for dynamic test to evaluate the performance and life of the plate spring.

7. Quality inspection

Appearance inspection: Check whether the appearance of the plate spring is defective.

Size measurement: Measure whether the size of the plate spring meets the design requirements.

Performance test: Perform performance test on the plate spring to ensure that it meets the specified performance indicators.

8. Packaging and transportation

Packaging: Proper packaging of qualified leaf springs to protect their safety during transportation.

Transportation: Arrange transportation to send the spring to the customer or the installation site.

The above is the process flow of the plate spring. Through the above process steps, the plate spring can obtain the required shape, elasticity and stability, so that it can play its own function in different fields. It should be noted that the quality needs to be strictly controlled in each process to ensure the production quality and performance of the spring.
